Meet your tutor Freddie

Freddie Draper, Expert Bass Guitarist

At home both with the electric bass and acoustic double bass, Freddie Draper is an accomplished session musician, orchestrator, and instrument builder. His intimate knowledge of his instruments and advanced technical expertise give Freddie a unique insight into instrumental pedagogy. After graduating from ICMP with a first class honours degree and ‘Best Bass’ award to his name, Freddie joined the teaching faculty in 2014.

As a professional session player, he has been privileged to work with seasoned producers such as Bruce Woolley (The Buggles, Will Young, Grace Jones), Ray Stiles (Mud, The Hollies), and Mick Jones (The Clash, B.A.D.), and has recently played with acts including Fjokra, Gareth Gates, John Own Jones, Louise Dearman, Ejem Ugzor, The Glass Child and Lazy Habits. Freddie has toured internationally and performs on the major U.K. summer festival circuit, including appearances at Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight Festival.
